More
than 15 years ago the first EBINGER underground markers
were buried for scientific purposes. Since then the system
has been refined and has become of more and more importance
for civil engineering, public utilities and energy suppliers.
The
EBEX 300 locator transmits pulses of low frequency
which will cause passive electronic underground markers
of halo or cylindrical shape to respond with a defined signal
of higher frequency. This response is detected selectively
and transduced into an audio alarm. The underground markers
can be frequency-coded to indicate specific target points.
The
advantage of the system consists in his selective detection
of markers. Metal scrap, mineralized soil or ground conductivity
will not influence the location result. Underground markers
can also be located in the vicinity of large masses of metal.
