MINE DETECTOR EBEX 420 SI
Mine detector EBEX 420 SI

The hand held mine detector EBEX 420 is particularly adapted for detecting the remnants of war such as anti-personnel mines containing only a minimum amount of metal, anti tank mines and UXO. The EBEX 420 is a modular and easy to use equipment.

The detector design eases logistics and first line field maintenance, allowing the definition and exchange of defective components without tools or advanced training. Its simplicity in operation, with one sensitivity adjuster only, make it ideal for use in adverse conditions.

The EBEX 420 is available in either the sinus or the pulse induction version. Both techniques have different advantages.

The sinus wave detector EBEX 420 SI (NSN 6695-12-342-8801) is highly sensitive to metal objects with poor conductivity. This allows the detection of mines, which under normal circumstances are unlikely to be sensed. It has a low power consumption and can be supplied by a single battery, which makes the device compact and lightweight.

The EBEX 420 SI exists in standard version or short version (see photos), designed for operating in the kneeling position.

MINE DETECTOR EBEX 420 PBD
Mine detector EBEX 420 PBD

The EBEX 420 PBD (NSN 6695-99-869-3649) operates on a dynamic search mode and adapts continuously to changing soil conditions. It will reduce interference from mineralised soil or background influence such as salt water. EBEX 420 PBD was developed with the help of British and US military supporting UN- and humanitarian mine clearance operations in Africa, South East Asia and Europe.

The detector head sends out short magnetic pulses which force conductive targets to respond with an electromagnetic echo. The detector transforms the signal into an audible alarm, which depends in its intensity on the size of the located target.

MINE DETECTOR EBEX 422 GC
Mine detector EBEX 421 GC
The EBEX 422 GC can be used on non cooperative ground where other technology may fail. The index GC stands for "Ground Compensation" which refers to the rejection of interference from volcanic soil or laterit. This equipment is therefore suitable for use throughout the world.

In many areas throughout the world, mine detectors can be influenced by a mixture of soils such as laterit, magnetic rock and by soil conductivity due to monsoon rain. The wide band compensation of EBEX 421 GC meets such environmental working conditions and also rejects interference from saltwater due to its pulse induction operating principle.

Three decades of experience and close cooperation with international users led to this compact modular design. Components subject to wear and tear can easily be exchanged without further calibration work. This eases fault definition and significantly improves equipment availability in the field.

The rugged design and constructional features, coupled with available accessories, makes the EBEX 421 GC a very versatile equipment which can be used under almost all working conditions. It suits operating in the lying, kneeling, or standing position.

The EBEX 421 GC consists of : a Ø 230 mm circular search head, a extension rod, an electronic module with adjuster, a loudspeaker with sleeve, a battery container (or battery pack), a headset, a test piece, a transit case, a satchel and an operation manual. The EBEX 421 GC can also be delivered with an optional enlarged search head Ø 450 mm, used to clear battle areas of deep buried ordnance.
